This award will go to the Exhibitor who – through displays, actions, promotions, attitude and/or spirit – is most in alignment with our mission.

Student Programs

Students, METROCON is the ideal place to kick-start your career in the Architecture & Design industry!

METROCON is large enough to familiarize yourself with a range of materials and manufacturers, but small enough to start establishing meaningful connections within the industry that you will likely have for the lifetime of your career.

We highly recommend that Students attend both days of the show as to take advantage of everything it has to offer.

As long as you register online to attend METROCON18 by 5:00 PM (CST) on Friday, August 3rd, then you can attend both days of the trade show and participate in Student Programs listed below for FREE. After that deadline, the fee is $10 online and on-site at the show. If you want to take any other programming - i.e., the Keynote, Seminars, or Continuing Education Courses - there are fees associated with those, however. View the free breakdown.

Student Charrette Awards & Incentives

On Thursday afternoon, an esteemed panel of judges will select the winning designs. On Friday, all team entries will be on display, and the winners will be announced.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place teams will be recognized, with each member of the 1st Place team  receiving a $250 Amazon Gift Card.

We will take photographs of the winning teams and provide them to their respective academic programs, as well as to the winning participants, for use on social media, on academic and personal websites, in program newsletters, school newspapers, etc. in order to celebrate the students' success.

We will also publicize the winners and their respective academic programs on our website and on social media.

2018 Continuing Education

Online registration for all programming closed at 5:00 PM on Friday, August 3rd. You can still sign up for programming on-site, however. Here's how:

  • Go ahead and register online to attend the trade show HERE.

  • Once you get your badge, go to the CEU Help Desk, which sits in front of the CEU Classrooms. Find a map HERE.

  • Volunteers at the CEU Help Desk will sell you passes to Continuing Education courses that are still open, as well as to Seminars and the Keynote. FYI: All Tours are sold out.

  • Students, we can still get you into Friday's Student Programming up until 6:00 PM on Thursday, but you MUST get a ticket at the CEU Help Desk.

Yes, several of our CEU courses are sold out. (Those that are sold out are noted as such on the list below.) To try to get into a sold out course we recommend that you start forming a line outside the room of the course that you are interested in around 10 minutes before the course starts. Inevitably a few people who officially registered online for the class will not show up for one reason or another. If/when this occurs and there are empty seats right as the class starts, then the volunteer Classroom Monitor will let people into the class as per their order in the line. Obviously, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to get into the class, but we have used this method for years, and it works for most cases.
